Worship

Redeemed to serve - Worship

(Psa 51:17) The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart-These, O God, You will not despise.

God is our Creator, the Giver of life, our Provider, Protector, Preserver, and Flourisher. He gives us Shalom.

This comes from the understanding of the habitat of God.

(Act 17:28) for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' / (Col 1:17) And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

If we do not live as God is our habitat, then we will worship the material world - which is what we see so blatantly around us. (Exo 20:2) "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

(Exo 20:3) "You shall have no other gods before Me.

If God is not our habitat, but the material world has become our habitat, then we have become an idolator.

Idolatry - because the heart's true worship is directed toward the desired thing, not God.

Religious utilitarianism - using religion for personal gain.

Transactional faith - "If I do this for God, He must do that for me."

Prosperity‑driven spirituality - faith motivated by material outcomes.

Manipulative piety - trying to use spiritual acts to force God's hand.

(Joh 4:23) But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

(Joh 4:24) God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

(Mar 12:29) Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'HEAR, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE.

(Mar 12:30) AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' This is the first commandment.

(Mar 12:31) And the second, like it, is this: 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

(Heb 13:15) Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

(Luk 6:45) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. / (Isa 29:13) Therefore the Lord said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

(Gen 13:7) And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land.

(Gen 13:8) So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren.

(Joh 17:21) that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

(Joh 17:22) And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:

(Joh 17:23) I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
