09 – 28Apr2023 – *Declaring God’s word to our times* - _Acts 05:17-42_ - DID NOT CEASE TEACHING AND PREACHING JESUS - Bible reading: _Daniel 03:28-30_
“Lord Jesus, teach us that we will know that there are angels whom You have sent to minister to us. We, therefore, need not be afraid but bold to declare Your word to our generation. In Your name, we pray. Amen.”
_Acts 5:17-21a Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with indignation, (18) and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. (19) *But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out*, and said, (20) “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life." (21a) And when they heard that, they entered the temple early in the morning and taught. …_
We need to be encouraged to know that the angel of the Lord encamps those who walk in the fear of God. The servant of Elisha the prophet, was full of fear as he saw the armies of Syria surrounding the city of Dothan, where they were.
_II Kings 6:15-17 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" (16) So he answered, *"Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."* (17) And Elisha prayed, and said, *"LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.*_
The mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. This is the protection of the Lord for His servants. When we walk in the fear of God, this is how the Lord keep us. Elisha knew God’s protection so well that he was not afraid of anyone, to speak to them and give them the message of God.
This is how we need to be as His church. We must share the message of God to the people of the world, fearlessly, because we are able to see the chariots of fire that surround us.
This was the courage that was displayed by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego to Nebuchadnezzar. They knew that the angels of God surrounded them. They were not afraid of the fire into which the King was threatening to throw them. We know that our Lord Himself was with them in the fire and they were not harmed.
_Daniel 3:28-30 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, *"Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!* (29) Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; *because there is no other God who can deliver like this.*" (30) Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon._
We all know the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. _Daniel 6:20-23 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, *"Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?"* (21) Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever! (22) *My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him*; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you." (23) Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So *Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God*.
Daniel’s protection was because he walked in the fear of God. This is the truth that enables us to be fearless in our times when persecution against His church is increasing.
Who are angels? *_Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?_*
The Lord has appointed angels to minister to us, who have inherited His salvation.
God has a special concern in His heart for children. The angels of each child always see the face of the Father. This is why we must take care of children with great respect. *_Matthew 18:10 "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven._* Those who cause harm to children in any way will suffer the wrath of God.
```The church must know the role of angels in our lives and therefore be bold and courageous to declare God’s word to our generation.```
