*FRIEND OF GOD*
Tue31Aug2021 - *Bringing in the kingdom rule of God* - _Luke 22:31-34_ - THE VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIFE (05) - Bible reading: _Matthew 16:18-19_
_Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, *Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat*_
The Lord is calling us to get into the battlefield, engage the enemy, bring down his strongholds and there establish the kingdom rule of God.
This is the prayer that the Lord taught us to pray, which is to bring the kingdom rule of God here on earth, as it is in heaven.
_Matthew 6:13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. *For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever*. Amen._
God’s kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. This kingdom of God is not something in the future but the kingdom of God is in force right now and we are in the epicentre of God’s kingdom.
_II Corinthians 10:3-6 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, (5) *casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (6) and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled*._
Generally, it seems as though our approach to public life as Christians is more of preservation and safety. We prefer to remain in the background. We are absent from public conversations. We do not want to be prophetic and bring the voice of God into current matters and issues that are plaguing our world.
There needs a total overhaul of our thinking, understanding and our engagement with the world.
_I Corinthians 1:18-21 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (19) For it is written: "*I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND BRING TO NOTHING THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRUDENT." (20) Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world*? (21) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe._
We ought not to be ashamed or restrained about the gospel message. We must, with humble confidence, share the good news of Jesus to our world in relation to the struggles that people are facing.
Our prayer needs to be for wisdom, courage and clarity to explain the gospel of Jesus Christ in all settings.
_I Corinthians 1:27-31 But *God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty*; (28) and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, (29) that no flesh should glory in His presence. (30) But of Him *you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God*—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— (31) that, as it is written, "HE WHO GLORIES, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD."_
We are here to reveal to the world the wisdom of God.
_Romans 16:25-26 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began (26) but *now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations*, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, *for obedience to the faith*—_
God has made known to the world, through prophetic scripture, His mysteries. We as His people must be those who are well versed in scripture so as to rightly explain God’s concerns to the world.
_II Timothy 2:15 *Be diligent* to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, *rightly dividing the word of truth*._
_Matthew 16:18-19 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock *I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it*. (19) And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and *whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven*."_
We are part of the everlasting kingdom. The kingdom of God is already in force.
We therefore must bind those things that are not of God and release those things that are of God and His character into our world. We must rout the enemy, for the church has the authority to bring in the kingdom rule of God.
_Romans 14:17-18 for *the kingdom of God* is not eating and drinking, *but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit*. (18)
For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men._
This is why the Lord has asked us to ‘pray in’ His kingdom into our world.
_Matthew 6:9-10 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. (10) *Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven*._
*Thought to ponder*
```Are you exercising the kingdom rule of God or is your life ‘the uninvolved’ kind?```
