📖 Luke 12:22-34
*Be a kingdom person here on earth* _Luke 12:22-34_
These are the principles that we need to live by as God’s people, to overcome anxiety. The first lesson being that we can no longer live for the self but every time we become aware of the self wanting significance, we take it to the cross by faith and there we are crucified with Christ. The second principle that governs us is by living for the eternal and it is the the kingdom of God, which is eternal. The third principle is of being distinct from the world. The distinction from the world is that we have repented from trusting the temporal things of life as our source to God as our source.
The fourth principle that we will see today is to be kingdom minded. Our Lord assures us, "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” _Luke 12:32._
We are kingdom people here on earth. We cannot refuse His words, which He speaks to us. We cannot pay just a passing glance to God’s word and continue living by the ways of the world as though God is not watching us. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." Now this, "yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. The temporal things of life, which causes worry and fear will be shaken and removed and only that which is built on God’s word will remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire _Hebrews 12:25-29._
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the land, which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; Abraham dwelt in the land, without looking at the land as his safety, his guarantee, his security, his life or his identity. Abraham waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Abraham’s eyes were always on the kingdom of God, though he dwelt in the land. _Hebrews 11:8-10._
Stephen, speaking of Abraham says, “And God gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on … _Acts 7:5._ The only land that Abraham owned was his graveyard. Abraham’s heart was on the kingdom of God and not on the temporal things of life.
